The Courses: Emergency Responders

Emergency vehicles must be driven in all conditions: on rainy nights, foggy days, under white-out snow conditions, and in all sorts of traffic. Getting to the scene to save lives and property is paramount. A collision on the way not only takes out that vehicle but requires other units already responding to the emergency to now respond to their own.

The driver usually has two roles: being a professional driver and as an emergency response professional. These courses help to increase the driver’s knowledge, skills, and confidence so they will be more able to focus on the job at hand: saving lives and protecting property.

Ambulance Emergency Vehicle Operation

  • Student drivers learn how to help provide a stable platform for the medic in back that may be working on a patient with a special attention is placed on acceleration, braking, and turning forces since they apply to all people within the vehicle.
  • The low-speed high-stress track training provides a realistic environment in which to practice safe and efficient ambulance emergency vehicle operation.
