The Courses

Emergency vehicles must be driven in all conditions: on rainy nights, foggy days, under white-out snow conditions, and in all sorts of traffic. Getting to the scene to save lives and property is paramount. A collision on the way not only takes out that vehicle but requires other units already responding to the emergency to now respond to their own.

The driver usually has two roles: being a professional driver and as an emergency response professional. These courses help to increase the driver’s knowledge, skills, and confidence so they will be more able to focus on the job at hand: saving lives and protecting property.

Enforcement Emergency Vehicle Operation Course

  • Responding to an emergency while working a radio and navigating unpredictable traffic heighten stress and introduces concerns about fatigue. In this class, drivers learn how to respond to these conditions with increased care and confidence.
  • Drivers learn techniques that are applicable to vehicles ranging from cars to off road pickup trucks. Special consideration is given to navigating intersections, parking on roadways and overall efficiency.
Students learn that, although they have the right to violate the right of way like going through a red stop light, they also must perform their duties safely.
  • Agency specific policies concerning pursuits are also considered. The course teaches that an efficient driver can chase a less efficient driver without bringing a car beyond its limit.
  • Through the use of our low-speed high-stress methods, students gain increased confidence in their ability to apply efficient driving techniques and operate a variety of enforcement emergency vehicles.
